So far, Daemon X Machina has a lot of promise. The combat is a lot of fun and gets increasingly better as you fight bigger and smarter enemies.

Daemon X Machina sets the bar for robot action games. The addictive mecha fighting is almost flawless, but it's complemented by so many other incredible parts to the game. There's a rich, unique world filled with incredible and memorable characters, endless and addictive customisation, gorgeous visuals and a jaw-dropping soundtrack. Daemon X Machina rarely stumbles, and even when it did, I still couldn't help but be impressed by this amazing new experience.

There’s nothing quite like it on the Switch that I’ve seen thus far, but I’m hoping Daemon X Machina will pave the way for more.

Daemon X Machina delivers massive mecha-action in the style of Armored Core, that in fact sets no new impulses to the genre, has to fight with an actual interesting, but weak presented story and could scare off some new entrants with the loadout-mechanics, but actually plays very well and delivers enough inducement to play it beyond the story mode. Fans of Armored Core and mecha-action in general eventually find enough reasons for a buy.

Daemon X Machina is one of the biggest surprises of this year on Nintendo Switch: a third person shooter that is much mor of the sum of its parts, recommended not only to mech and anime fans but to anyone looking for a good mission-based shoot'em up.

Daemon X Machina is definitely a fun, adrenaline filled experience, and an impressive one at that. I've never delved into this kind of shooter before, but I would say that I have received a fantastic introduction into the genre with an impressive choice of customisation, satisfying gameplay, and intriguing plot, not to mention fantastic multiplayer... it makes me rather excited for the planned update to add competitive multiplayer modes. Though there are some improvements which could better the replayability further, such as including a scoring system to the missions, I still had a lot of fun playing the game, and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a decent mech shooter for the Nintendo Switch.

Daemon X Machina is fun, fast, with surgical controls, an extraordinary sense of growth and a huge customization of every aspect of the game. Not to mention the galvanizing and powerful sound; however, on the scale we also have sufficient graphics, albeit stylistically refined, and a style of play that requires so much dedication to be fully appreciated.

Despite being weighed down by a certain repetitiveness (accentuated by the need to repeat missions several times to scrape together parts, equipment, and money) and although it has some technical limitations, Daemon X Machina represents a respectable demonstration of the mech genre that is able to satisfy the hunger for fans

At its core Daemon X Machina is a solid mech action game that controls well and gives the player a generous helping of customisation options. Its mission structure can get repetitive, and its plot is so difficult to grasp it may as well be soaked in grease, but as long as you're willing to put up with these and get through its initially bewildering array of gauges and icons you should have a good time with it.

Despite that, the sum total of my experience with Daemon X Machina is positive. The combat is amazing, the game is bright and colorful, the framerate mostly holds up in either docked or handheld mode, and the hangar is great to tinker around in, checking out all the different configurations of my mech. That's what I'm going to remember out of all of this, which is safe for me to say because most everything else in this game is pretty forgettable.

Daemon X Machina does very well when it comes to action, while also delivering a strong customization and strategic experience when it comes to planning the next battle and managing resources. The game's plot could certainly have fared better but the overall gaming experience of Daemon X Machina will leave fans of action games overwhelmingly satisfied, especially those who enjoy a good amount of planning and customization.

When it's great, Daemon X Machina is a fast and frenetic mech action game with deep customisation options and a killer artistic direction that sets it apart from the rest. But when it's not, it's repetitive mission structure, nonsensical story and facile combat stop it from being the best it could be.

Fans of Armored Core should look past my concerns, and give the game a go. People who want to take the controls of a mech and shred a bunch of underpowered foes will have a good time. The general public should probably give it some extra thought.

With a poorly executed plot, reused assets and a lack of challenge despite an intricate combat system, Daemon X Machina is an underwhelming title that could have benefited from a more polished narrative design and varied combats.
