I’m sorry, it wasn’t “it” for me.
The story concept is very cool, and I’m sure if I some day stumble upon the comics, I’ll gladly check them. But the game lacks something, it’s hard to point precisely what. And compared to the other big game of the studio around the same time, that is **The Walking Dead: A Telltale Series**, it just feels very weak from start to finish.
The characters could be very interesting, with their specific physical features and capabilities. And even if the story is not terribly bad, it *could* be just slightly better, thus captiving a broader audience with a very “noir” tone. That’d work so well in this environment, I don’t get why they didn’t go there.
The ending is very expectable, and exception made for the final twist, it just felt bland. Again: nothing that deserves hate or a “Never play this game” advice, but just … bleh.
Still, if there is ever a season two and the trailer hooks me, I’ll go and check it, for sure.
**Favourite season character** (ordered): Bigby Wolf, Crooked Man, Nerissa, Bufkin & The Woodsman
