GARRI Halo: Campaign Evolved Review

Aug 7, 2026
0.5, but if I could have given it a 0, I wouldn't have hesitated. This game is nothing more than a pack of textures and shaders sold for 60 euros, with gameplay and game design that are nearly 25 years old now; it's a disgrace! But what really gets under my skin is the AI voice acting (if you can even call it that), which shows a total lack of respect for the players—but especially for the voice actors who do incredible work to make content more accessible and to convey emotions as faithfully as possible, whether in video games, movies, audiobooks, and many other fields (I’m talking about the French version here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the same in other languages). On top of all that, the game has already been remastered with new full-CGI cutscenes, and also offers a one-click in-game before-and-after comparison in The Master Chief Collection (2019), which is still quite acceptable graphically and costs only 40 euros plus Halo 2 (also remastered in the same way as Halo 1), Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4. As a fan since Halo 3, it breaks my heart to see this franchise sink lower with each new installment, thinking that every time, we’ve already hit rock bottom...
