Ghost of Scotland God of War: Sons of Sparta Review

I’m not sure why people are so down on this game. For me, it’s a pretty decent Metroidvania. It can feel a bit slow in places, but the charm is definitely there, with hidden collectibles, engaging boss fights, and strong voice acting throughout.
The pixel art is beautifully crafted, and there’s some really nice level design as well. The music is also a standout, as expected from Bear McCreary, but this time with a retro twist that fits the style really well. Getting a new story focused on young Kratos and his brother Deimos was a fun addition too.
My only real issues were a few graphical problems, and sometimes enemies would get stuck at the end of their path. Other than that, I had a good time with it overall.
