The Lovecraftian fishing game Dredge is now free for a very limited time on the Epic Store. The 2023 title is a cozy fishing game with increasingly dark undertones, and it's received praise from both critics and players for expertly merging genres that seem entirely unrelated to each other.
Dredge is currently available for free on the Epic Games store as part of the game company's holiday giveaway series. Fans who want to get hold of the title completely free of charge will have to act fast, though, as the title is only being given away in the store until December 25 at 11:00 AM (EST). After Dredge is removed, a new game will replace it as that day's free giveaway.
Dredge lets players control a small fishing trawler through the waters by day, catching fish and exploring the waters. Players can sell their daily catches to the locals and learn more about the strange history and underlying secrets of the areas. At night, the waters become far less welcoming, and players who make the mistake of staying out too late are left to face the monsters that lie in wait in the dark depths of the murky waters.
