On a weekly basis this year, Nintendo held special spirit events for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Now, the final event for 2019 has been announced, and it will focus on a very comfy type of clothing.

Smash Ultimate's last spirit event for 2019 will focus on characters who wear shorts. The event is called "Energy! Spirit of Shorts." The event starts today, December 27th, and will run through December 30th. During the event, characters that wear shorts will be featured on the spirit board. When players defeat these characters, they will earn extra snacks.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now the best selling fighting game in U.S. history, dethroning one of its predecessors, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This title comes after Nintendo announced in November that Smash Ultimate is the best selling fighting game worldwide, with the game has sold over 15.71 million copies. This beats Street Fighter II's 15.5 million sales. Smash Ultimate rests at second place in sales this year, being topped only by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be making its first EVO Japan appearance in 2020, and has the most entries out of the six games that will be featured at the tournament. Almost 3,000 entrants are lined up for Smash Ultimate at EVO Japan this year. This is more than double the entrants for the second place game, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, which sits at 1,462 entries. Both Smash Ultimate and Street Fighter V are the only games to have over 1,000 entries. EVO Japan will take place January 24th through January 26th 2020.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch. The game's latest DLC fighter was Terry from Fatal Fury. As it stands, it is unknown who the game's next DLC fighter will be.

I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember. I am a huge fan of JRPGs, though I also enjoy fighters. I have been writing about video games for a few years now. If it has a great story, I am sure that I will dig it.
