Back in February, Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone revealed that Stardew Valley had sold over 30 million copies. But just ten months later, it has crossed a new and incredibly impressive milestone, selling over 41 million copies across all platforms.
According to StardewValley.net (as pointed out by ResetEra user --R), 26 million of those copies were sold on PC, and 7.9 million on Nintendo Switch.
To put into perspective just how huge a milestone that is, Animal Crossing: New Horizons — the 13th best-selling game of all-time — has sold 46 million copies.
Stardew Valley, developed by solo dev ConcernedApe, has nearly caught up to one of the most successful games of all-time, developed by one of the biggest publishers in the industry. And eight years on from its launch, it still managed to sell over ten million copies.
Way back in 2016, this unsuspecting farming sim launched on Steam and managed to sell one million copies in just two months, making it one of the biggest releases of that year (as reported by Polygon at the time).
Eight years later, it's no wonder that Stardew Valley is still going strong, given the sheer number of free updates and expansions....
