A new event is coming to Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, and it is sending players into the Wastelands.

Crash Team Racing's latest event, the Rustland Grand Prix, will go live tomorrow, January 16th, for PlayStation 4 users. The event will end on February 16th. During the Rustland Grand Prix, players will be able to earn new Karts, a new racer, and more.

The new character coming to Crash Team Racing through the Rustland Grand Prix is Mega-Mix. Mega-Mix first appeared in Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, and is a mix of Neo Cortex, N. Gin, Dingodile, and Tiny Tiger. He will be the game's 50th racer, and can be unlocked in the Nitro Gauge. The new track is Mega-Mix Mania, and is an outpost of steel, fire, and graffiti. There are also three new Karts for players to unlock. Two of them can be unlocked in the Nitro Gauge, while the other is unlocked in the Pit Stop. The Kart unlocked in the Pit Stop has the ability to hover.

The Rustland Grand Prix will let racers get their hands on a number of Pit Stop items. This includes industrial-punk styled skins, paint-jobs, and stickers. Players will also be able to rock out their Karts with spray-paint decals and wheels. Gamers will receive flag stickers to represent their country just by downloading the game update for the event. Players will be able to earn Rustland versions of the CTR TV newscasters, Chick N' Stew. Finally, those who finish in the top five percent of the Grand Prix leaderboards will win the Champion Kart (if they have not earned it yet), and the Champion Decal, which is a Neo Cortex-inspired graffiti.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game was awarded the Best Racing game at The Game Awards 2019. It was also named 2019's best racing game by a number of news outlets, including IGN. The game earned OpenCritic's Strong rating with a Top Critic Average of 83.
