90% Of Assassins Creed Shadows Will Be Completable With One Character, But The Devs Urge Players To Experiment With Both

The developers of Assassin's Creed Shadows say most of the game can be completed with just one of its dual protagonists, but players are better off experimenting anyway. Although it's not the first time an Assassin's Creed game has had multiple playable characters, it is the first time the two of them have had such radically different playstyles. Naoe, the shinobi, embodies the classic Assassin's Creed style, specializing in stealth and secrecy. Yasuke, meanwhile, is a heavily-armored samurai who walks right into the heart of battle, fending off enemies with deft skill, but far less subtlety.

And according to an interview with Assassin's Creed Shadows producer Tu Yang and assistant director Zhu Bijia in Gamersky, players can complete 90% of the game using just Naoe (or, presumably, just Yasuke), but are much better off experimenting with both protagonists. There's quite a bit of exclusive content to each storyline, and, although it's technically possible to complete most of the game with just one of them, players will get a more complete picture of the story by dabbling with both.
