Black Desert Online's roadmap for the first half of 2020 has been released.
According to the roadmap, the first bit of content coming to Black Desert Online in 2020 is the Guardian class. The class will be available to play on January 22nd. Much like her male counterpart, the Berserker, the Guardian wields an axe that she can use to cleave through her opponents. The Guardian will then receive her Awakening on February 5th, which arms her with a polearm that burns her enemies with flames.
The first quarter of 2020 will see the release of the Succession system. When players reach a certain level, they can choose Awakening, which grants them a new weapon and new abilities to fit. The Succession system gives players the option to take a different route than Awakening when they reach a certain level. Instead of receiving a new weapon and abilities, the character will keep their weapon and abilities when Succession is chosen, though they will become much more powerful. During the first quarter of 2020, Wizards, Witches, Strikers, Mystics, Lahns, and Guardians will be able to choose Succession instead of Awakening.
Additional content coming to Black Desert Online during the first quarter of the year includes the Shai receiving the ability to compose and perform their own music. Players will also be able to go to Papua Crinea. This area is home to the adorable Papus and the Otters. The two races are in the midst of war with each other in what is called the Thousand Year War. In the second quarter of the year, a new area called O'dyllita will become available. Here, another chapter in the tale of the children of the goddess Sylvia will finally be revealed.
Black Desert Online is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to the game's roadmap, more information concerning what to expect for the second half of 2020 will be announced at a later date.
