Epic Games Founder/CEO Tim Sweeney has reportedly confirmed that Alan Wake 2 isn't headed to Steam and will continue to be exclusively available via Epic Games Store on PC. Besides this platform, Remedy Entertainment's critically acclaimed title, Alan Wake 2, is also available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Despite rolling out in 2023, a year filled with several highly rated AAA releases, Alan Wake 2 successfully stood out from the competition and swept multiple award events, including winning three different recognitions at The Game Awards. Given that Epic Games Publishing funded Remedy's ambitious Alan Wake sequel, the game's PC port was launched as an Epic Games Store exclusive title. However, for those PC gamers who prefer buying their games on Epic's rival storefront, Steam, this exclusivity deal has been a grievance ever since. And, as per a new development, it looks like the status quo isn't expected to change anytime soon.
Remedy has made some great games in the last few years, but its upcoming FBC: Firebreak could benefit from leaning more into Alan Wake 2 than Control.
