Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition had announced DLC for this remaster back in February of last year. However, after being delayed to 2025, the content has now been completely canceled. Initially expected for late 2024, the DLC was postponed indefinitely in October. Now, the studio has confirmed that, following a thorough evaluation, the content has been fully scrapped. Reasons Behind the Cancellation of the Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition DLC “We regret not providing updates since we announced the DLC,” the team wrote on Steam. “During the planning of last year’s [New Year, New Age] event, we wanted to ensure that Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition players were part of the franchise celebration, as we know how much love and passion they have for the game. However, by prioritizing their inclusion, we announced content before it was fully developed, and we now feel that the reveal was premature.” The studio acknowledged that this decision is a major disappointment for many players who were looking forward to more content. They also mentioned that, while they managed to release a patch in late 2024, they understand that it did not meet the community’s expectations. See full article at Fextralife
