Hackers Using Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Playtest for New Steam Scam

Fans in the Elden Ring Nightreign community are warning of a new scam on Steam that deceives victims about a fake playtest. The official Elden Ring Nightreign test begins on February 14, 2025.

Elden Ring is without a doubt one of the most successful games developer FromSoftware has ever produced, and is certainly its most popular. Now the studio is pivoting to something slightly different in the form of Elden Ring Nightreign, a spin-off of Elden Ring focused on cooperative multiplayer adventuring in the Lands Between. Players will gather in teams of three or solo to explore and fight enemies in familiar parts of the world, taking on bosses both familiar and new and mastering their weapons and combat styles. They'll also deal with a survival component of sorts centered around Elden Ring Nightreign's day-and-night cycle.

Elden Ring Nightreign needs to leap at the chance to overhaul one Elden Ring feature that has garnered criticism since the game's release in 2022.
