On January 31, Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft players who play Plunderstorm can earn new rewards simply by participating in the battle royale game mode and collecting Plunder. However, the rewards are a one-time redemption per World of Warcraft account, and can only be traded in for two types of Warbound chests that contain random pieces of gear.

Following a successful first season during Dragonflight's 10.2.6 update, Plunderstorm was brought back for a second run on January 14, just a week after World of Warcraft concluded its 20th-anniversary celebration event. Plunderstorm is a 60-player battle royale game mode that pits players in a pirate-themed brawl in the Arathi Basin, with solo, duo, and trio player queues as available options. For Plunderstorm's second season, World of Warcraft introduced the Plunderstore to give players a straightforward way to spend their Plunder earned in-game on cosmetic rewards such as weapons, mounts, and companion pets.

World of Warcraft commemorates the second year of the Trading Post with new, thematic rewards for players to earn throughout February.
