Critic Reviews for Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4
Even though the journey is only halfway to completion, Deltarune's incredible story is already bursting with hilarious charm, unforgettable characters, and an iconic soundtrack that make it worth investing your time in.
Deltarune is a game that can feel odd to recommend, as it's both difficult to convey in words what makes this game feel special and… well, it still isn't done. Its goofy and subversive narrative, innovative battle mechanics, and killer soundtrack all combine to make this one worth the purchase in its current state, even if it is unfinished and the visuals still feel a tad underwhelming. At any rate, I'd suggest you pick this one up; there's no telling when the story will finally wrap up, but the release of the latest two chapters has done a lot to round out what once felt a little anaemic.
Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 is the tangible explanation of why indie is beautiful, as well as being the confirmation that Toby Fox knows how to reinvent the 2D RPG with intelligence and irony like no other. A simply unmissable work, if you consider yourself a gamer.

Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 are worth the wait due to the content and story presented. Susie's character arc is very vulnerable and will bring you to tears, Kris's mystery thickens, and the world expands meaningfully and emotionally. The humour and heart that made Undertale and early Deltarune chapters special are still here, with more polish, questions, and challenges. And with six chapters still to come, we're only just getting started.
The game is not shy about being uncomfortable, naively silly and at the same time resolutely serious, funny to the point of colic and sad to tears, it cleverly and good-naturedly ironizes our world and the gaming industry and at the same time selflessly tries to find answers to complex existential questions. But most importantly, Deltarune gives sincere and pure emotions and remains in the heart for a long time.

Deltarune is a subversive epic that defies conventions and keeps the laughs coming every minute of its lengthy runtime. The most staggering aspect of it is that this isn't even its final form. Purchasing Deltarune chapters 1-4 is a ticket for the eventual chapters 5-7, which will expand the scope of the story and surely take things in an unpredictable direction if the conclusion of chapter 4 is anything to go by. Undertale wasn't without its faults and neither is Deltarune, but once the story, gags, and characters unfold, it's the kind of game that lingers, leaving a powerful and unforgettable experience. It's the kind of lasting impression that supersedes flaws.
A must-play for UNDERTALE fans, DELTARUNE is an experience that delivers as much excellence as its predecessor (if not more, considering the amount of content offered), improving combat mechanics and featuring an equally impeccable soundtrack. It's fun, funny, captivating and exciting.
