Despite the series historically being known as Xbox exclusive games, Forza Horizon 5 surprised fans by announcing that the game will be coming to PlayStation 5 in Spring 2025. Previously, Microsoft Gaming's CEO Phil Spencer had confirmed that some of Xbox's exclusive games will begin to come to other consoles, including other titles synonymous with Xbox such as Halo. Even knowing that, this confirmation that Xbox's popular racing series is joining the list of cross-platform games still came as a surprise for many.
One of the highest-rated games of the decade, Forza Horizon 5 has continued to hold an active fanbase despite releasing in 2021. New content in the form of Rally Adventure and Hot Wheels expansions and numerous car packs have helped to keep players returning, all of which will be available on the PS5.
Alongside the PS5 launch of Forza Horizon 5, a free content update will be added to all versions of the game. Cross-play between platforms will also be supported, so players on the PS5 will easily be able to play with others on PC and Xbox consoles.
