More Microsoft-published games are headed to the PS5. This time, it's Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (DE), and Age of Mythology: Retold.
Age of Empires 2, originally released on PC in 1999, saw a remaster in 2019 that was released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In November last year, we reported on how it was currently being playtested on PSN, which makes this announcement unsurprising. \\
The PS5 Is Getting Two High-Quality RTS Games This Year
Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition isn't the only real-time strategy (RTS) game to be released on PS5. Microsoft also announced that Age of Mythology: Retold will be available very soon.
The RTS game was developed by World's Edge, Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, CaptureAge, and Virtuos. and published by Xbox Game Studios, was initially released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC in September 2024.
The developers announced that Age of Empires 2: DE will arrive on the PS5 this Spring alongside new DLC. Details on the exact release date, price, and DLC haven't been shared yet, other than that the DLC will include "fresh new content, new civilizations for Ranked play"...
