Earlier this week, EA surprised everyone with our first look at Battlefield 6 in a rapid-fire, end-of-video montage, showing snippets of pre-alpha footage. But it won't be long before we get to try it for ourselves.
As reported by Eurogamer, EA revealed in its third-quarter financial earnings report that the new Battlefield has an "expected fiscal year 2026 release," which means it will launch sometime between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.
EA also showcased a brand-new initiative in the aforementioned video — Battlefield Labs.
The publishing giant is calling on the community to playtest Battlefield 6 pre- and post-launch to "get the community back on [its] side". Sign-ups went live when the trailer dropped two days ago (with a staggering queue of over 30,000 people, lasting well over an hour), so plenty of eager fans will get a chance to try the game out ahead of its release.
Some fans are already worried about "clown skins" and calling on EA to keep things on theme.
