One fan has created an amazingly detailed Metroid cosplay that took over two years to make. Despite being over 38 years old, the Metroid series still holds a special place in many fans' hearts. The series is going strong nearly four decades later, inspiring fans with its story, character development, and, of course, awesome exosuit.

Reddit user Alone_Ad1566 has expertly recreated Samus Aran's famous suit in stunning detail. The cosplay's creator shared several more photos on their Instagram where they go by king_johnnyviii. The photos show the cosplayer attending a gaming event in Cleveland, where they pose with fans and other cosplayers. The costume is a labor of love and time, as according to the cosplayer, all the costume parts took "over 2 years to 3-D print."

The cosplayer chose to recreate the most iconic suit from the Metroid series, the Varia Suit. First introduced in Metroid II: Return Of Samus, the Varia Suit's design builds on the original Power Suit, keeping many of its original elements. The suit is easy to recognize thanks to the large circular shoulder pads, which contribute to the defined silhouette of the suit.
