Over 1.3 Million Users Tried To Sign Up For Battlefield Labs

Earlier this week, Electronic Arts finally broke its silence when it comes to the future of the Battlefield first-person shooter franchise. As part of a five-minute reveal, EA revealed that four studios are coming together to form Battlefield Labs, with DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion all joining forces. As a result, Need for Speed will be put on ice as Criterion works specifically on the game's campaign.

Additionally, in an effort to avoid another disastrous launch, EA is soliciting fans to sign-up for playtests in order for fans to help "build Battlefield together." With that, players will be able to experience parts of the game's combat, destruction and other features with the ability to provide first-hand feedback. Those sign-ups are currently available and now, and via a new report, it appears that more than a handful of players want to be part of it.
