Sid Meier's Civilization 7 is struggling with early user reviews, sitting at just the "Mixed" category on Steam with days left to go before most players get a chance to dive in. Civilization 7 is now available to play only for players who purchased the Deluxe or Founders editions, and they are already finding a slew of problems with the newest title in the esteemed 4X strategy series, with many complaints centered around its user interface.
The celebrated series traces its roots back to its first game, which was released in 1991. More than eight years have passed since the release of Civilization 6, and 2K and Firaxis Games have been building up a lot of anticipation since announcing its successor two years ago, including revealing Civilization 7 narrator Gwendoline Christie of Game of Thrones and Wednesday fame.
Coming out in early 2025, Civ 7 is a bold new direction for the franchise, and fans should expect plenty of changes.
