Ahead of the April 2 Direct, a new message from Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has some Nintendo fans hopeful that news about the series could appear during the upcoming Switch 2 presentation. The last Super Smash Bros. game was released on Switch in 2018, so it has been over six years since the latest installment. With that in mind, some think some sort of announcement could be coming soon for the Switch 2.

After months of leaks and rumors, Nintendo finally revealed the Switch 2 on January 16. While the trailer showcased the console design and teased the next Mario Kart, it left fans with few answers regarding the potential launch lineup.
