A Civilization 7 datamining effort has apparently uncovered new leaders, civilizations, and more content planned for the 4X strategy game, and there seems to be somewhat of a pirate theme to it. The new leaders rumored to be coming to Sid Meier's Civilization 7 are 1950s Maori Women's League President Whina Cooper, 16th-century Moroccan privateer Sayyida al Hurra, and Edward Teach, better known as the notorious pirate Blackbeard.
Civilization 7's full release is set for February 11, although those who bought the Founders or Deluxe editions have already started playing, gaining early access that began on February 5. While reviews from fans who have played the game early have not been stellar, the leaders and civilizations in the base game have been among the more positive talking points.
Firaxis' newly released Civilization 7 is getting a virtual reality port in 2025, but its VR version will come with one notable limitation.
