Players will soon be able to try out DLC characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ before buying them.

Bandai Namco has announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ will start holding trials for the game's paid DLC characters. The first trial will be three characters: the Dragon Ball Z form of the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly, the demon Janemba, and Frieza's diabolical older brother Cooler. The three characters will be playable from February 28th through March 1st. These characters will be available to all players, regardless of platform or currently-owned DLC. Bandai Namco did reveal that more trials will be coming in the future, though it is not known if trials will always include three characters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ latest fighter, Kefla, will be released for FighterZ Pass 3 owners tomorrow, February 26th. She will then be available to all gamers on February 28th. Kefla is the fusion of Caulifla and Kale, and will utilize plenty of powerful energy-based attacks, just like she did against Goku in the Dragon Ball Super anime.

The next character coming to FighterZ after Kefla is Ultra Instinct Goku. This will be the seventh Goku in the game. This form of the hero has the ability to allow his mind and body act separately, letting easily avoid incoming attacks. It seems that UI Goku will be able to utilize this ability in FighterZ, though it is not known how the mechanic will work at this point. UI Goku has not been given a release date just yet. After the new Goku, FighterZ Pass 3 will introduce three more DLC fighters.

Also coming to the game is the new "Z Assist Select." This new system gives all characters three assist moves, one of which is chosen in the character select screen. This means that gamers will have to choose assist attacks that fit their team, adding a new element to team-building.
