Sid Meier's Civilization 7 is now available to play, having arrived alongside a big update that addresses some early access player complaints. Many more Civilization 7 patches are expected to materialize in the coming weeks and months.

Civilization 7 was treated to an international release on February 11, at midnight ET. However, anyone who purchased the game's Deluxe or Founders Editions was able to start playing it up to five days early.

Firaxis' newly released Civilization 7 is getting a virtual reality port in 2025, but its VR version will come with one notable limitation.

During the Civilization 7 early access phase, developer Firaxis rolled out three updates, the latest of which debuted on Monday, February 10. Dubbed 1.0.1 Patch 2, the newest version of the game addresses multiple complaints from Civilization 7 early adopters. A dozen of its fixes target the strategy game's user interface, which some players previously characterized as lacking polish. For instance, yield icons now populate correctly when transforming a town into a city, and the Settlement menu no longer fails to open when clicking on the Settlement Banner that belongs to someone other than the player.
