Some Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans have noticed a surprising rise in physical advertising for the five-year-old game. New Horizons was released in 2020 and was immensely successful thanks in part to its cozy island designing elements and in part for helping players get through a rough time. It's been five years since then and while the community remains alive and well, many believe it's time for Nintend to announce something new for the series.
Despite this, it seem that Nintendo is doubling down on its advertising for the half-a-decade-old title. An Animal Crossing fan who goes by shibahut on Reddit shared a photo of a large advertisement posted around a column at the Denver International airport. The advertisement shows an Animal Crossing character waving at another as they walk along a pier toward a plane from Dodo Airlines.
This prompted others to share their own ad-spotting experiences, suggesting an uptick in Animal Crossing ads in recent months. According to the Reddit thread, Animal Crossing advertising has also appeared on a massive billboard aloft a boat in Miami, Florida, in other airports, and more.
