Blizzard's Rod Fergusson has confirmed that Diablo 4's second expansion won't be arriving until 2026, which is sure to be sad news for fans of the game. The previous plan for Diablo 4 expansions was an annual release, but it seems that Blizzard is already set to miss this target.

Diablo 4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, received largely positive reviews from critics upon its release in October 2024, although some players were a little disappointed in the story. Still, there remains hope that Blizzard will continue to improve the story in future expansions. Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred also introduced the overpowered Spiritborn class, which was the first new class the series had seen in a decade at the time of launch. Since then, further news on future expansions has gone quiet at Blizzard.
