Four days before its release, Obsidian Entertainment's action RPG Avowed has set a major sales milestone. A spinoff of Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity duology, Avowed is set in the fictional fantasy world of Eora. It offers a flexible RPG system that allows players to customize their builds freely, set in a semi-open world with lots of off-the-beaten-path secrets to explore.
Players are already apparently impressed by Avowed, because, as spotted by Reddit user SemirAC, Avowed hit the number-three spot in Steam's Global Top Sellers chart this week. It surpassed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds, which recently smashed records on the Steam charts for most concurrent players. At the time of writing, Avowed also sits at number one on Steam's US Top Sellers chart, having surpassed Marvel Rivals and Sid Meier's Civilization 7 for the crown.
This is an impressive milestone for any game, but doubly so for Avowed, which isn't even out yet. Avowed won't technically be released until February 18, but fans are already apparently buying it in numbers.
