Fans of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise have been clamoring for more from the franchise for years, and if the words of pro skater Tyshawn Jones are to be believed, their wait may soon be over. During a recent interview on a radio show, Jones mentioned that he is set to appear in another remaster of a Tony Hawk Pro Skater title "about to come out."
The Tony Hawk Pro Skater series has waxed and waned in popularity over the past decade. The last sequential entry in the series, 2015's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5, was heavily derided upon its release, with players citing glitches, bad physics, and outdated mechanics, with the later reveal that production was rushed to release a game before developer Activision's IP license expired. After lying dormant for a half-decade, the series made a triumphant return in 2020 with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 with numerous quality-of-life improvements. Another five years later, the franchise looks like it's coming back for more.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater turns 25 this week, and its impact continues to be felt throughout the worlds of both sports and gaming.
