The Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise is teasing a brand-new announcement for the series to come soon, potentially hinting at a pair of new remasters. The long-running skateboarding franchise has been a staple of gaming since its inception in the late 1990s, with a litany of different games focused around the popular extreme sport. The series has seen five numbered main-series games, alongside a plethora of spinoffs including the fan-favorite Tony Hawk's Underground games. Now, two of the franchise's classic skateboarding games may be making a return in the near future.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater has featured multiple homages to the franchise's early days throughout the past decade, looking back at the series' roots with new remasters. 2020 saw the debut of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, serving as a remake of the first two Tony Hawk games with newer tricks and online multiplayer added. 2015's Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 also brought the first numbered entry in more than a decade, though the return to the traditional format saw poor reception from fans. A new teaser is now hinting at the skateboarding franchise's next announcement in the near future.
