Nintendo and Monolith Soft have revealed a lengthy new trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition that details the games' systems and some of its newest narrative additions. An enhanced rerelease of the 2015 original, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will launch on the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025.

Known among JRPG fans as a legendary Wii U-exclusive title for nearly a decade, Xenoblade Chronicles X is finally getting the chance to appear on other platforms, as part of the continuing wave of Wii U games ported to the Switch. Though not a direct part of the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy, Xenoblade Chronicles X became notable among fans for its more sci-fi-influenced narrative and aesthetic, harkening back to other Monolith Soft-developed titles like the Xenosaga trilogy and before it, Xenogears.

The upcoming Switch port of Xenoblade Chronicles X will likely make some significant changes if other ports of Wii U titles are any indication.
