The next Mastermind coming to Resident Evil Resistance was revealed today, while a free update added a new Survivor.
A free update for Resident Evil Resistance was dropped today, adding Jill Valentine to the game's Survivor roster. The news was released on Resistance's official website. Jill's first ability is Evade, which allows her to swiftly dodge enemy attacks. She can also temporarily switch to powerful S.T.A.R.S. issued firearms.
It was also announced that Nicholai Ginovaef will be the next Mastermind to play as in Resistance. He will be released sometime next month. No other details were given about him. It is unknown what his abilities will be, as well as what bioweapon will be at his disposal. The website did state that new equipment and skills will be released for both Survivors and Masterminds in May along with Ginovaef.
According to the game's roadmap, another bit of content will drop in June. It is unknown what that content will be, though the roadmap did cover June's content slot with construction tape, which could be hinting at a new level. The roadmap then shows that more updates will come to Resistance from July onward. This content could likely be more Survivors, Masterminds, and levels.
Last week it was announced that Resident Evil 3 shipped more than two million copies in its first five days. These sales ran across all three systems that the game is available for. Digital versions of the game accounted for nearly 50% of the game's sales. The original PlayStation version of the game, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, sold a total of 3.5 million copies. This is the second successful Resident Evil title in a row. Last year's remake of Resident Evil 2 has sold over 6.5 million copies. The Resident Evil series as a whole has sold over 95 million copies since it began in 1996.
Resident Evil 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It comes packaged with Resident Evil Resistance.
