Those who have been caught cheating in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone will be grouped together in matchmaking.

In a recent tweet, developer Infinity Ward announced that starting this week, those in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone who report suspected cheaters will receive a confirmation in-game when a player is banned. The developer also stated that they are going to deploy additional dedicated security updates, and increased resources across backend tech, studio, and enforcement teams. They are also going to update matchmaking to match suspected cheaters with one another.

Infinity Ward also stated that they will be adding report-a-player functionality to killcam and spectate modes sometime in the future.

This announcement comes a later later than a week after it was announced that more than 70,000 players have been issued account bans since Warzone's release. According to the team, they have security teams monitoring 24/7 to investigate data and identify potential infractions. These teams review all possible cheats and hacks in the game, including aimbots, wallhacks, and more. All reports that are received in-game are analyzed and filtered based upon key data. Once an investigation is complete, the team works as quickly as possible to issue a ban.

The announcement of cheater bans and modified matchmaking comes soon after it was revealed that Warzone has reached over 50 million players since the game launched in March. It was also announced that trios had been reintroduced to Warzone, now giving players the option to play in singles, trios, and quads.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are both available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Warzone can be picked up for free, and all progress made in that game can be transferred over to Modern Warfare if a player decides to purchase the full game.
