A number of Legendary Pokemon are making their return to Pokemon GO

To celebrate the release of Remote Raid Passes, a few Legendary Pokemon will be coming back to Pokemon GO in five-star raids. Throughout May, players will get another chance to capture Darkrai, Altered Forme Giratina, and Virizion. There is the chance that trainers can encounter a Shiny version of these three Pokemon.

Darkrai will be available in five-star raids beginning on April 28th and will be available until May 5th. Altered Forme Giratina will then come to five-star raids on May 5th, and will stay until May 12th. Finally, players will have the chance to capture Virizion starting on May 12th, and will have until May 19th to try and capture the Legendary.

It was also announced that from May 1st through May 29th, players will unlock Throwback Challenge Timed Research lines. Each research line will contain eight sets of three tasks. Each Timed Research will feature four regions from the Pokemon world: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. The Kanto research task will take place from May 1st til May 8th. Johto will run from May 8th until May 15th. Hoenn Starts on May 15th, and ends on May 22nd. Finally, Sinnoh will run from May 22nd through May 29th. During these times, players will run into Pokemon from the respective region more often in the wild. Eggs will contain that region's Pokemon. Trainers will also have the chance to catch a shiny version of a Pokemon from that respective region.

Those who complete all four Timed research lines will gain access to the Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 Special Research. Completing this Research line will reward players with five Rare Candies, as well as reward encounters with Galarian Meowth, Galarian Stunfisk, and Genesect. The event will begin on June 3rd, and will end on June 8th. Pokemon in their Galarian forms will hatch from eggs, while Unova region Pokemon will appear more often in the wild

Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS mobile devices.
