'I Don't Really Have a Lot of Sympathy' Asmongold Comments on Johnny Somali Situation

Twitch streamer Asmongold has praised the South Korean government’s reaction to Johnny Somali’s antics in the country. In 2023, Somali, real name Ramsey Khalid Ismael, began streaming on Twitch and, after getting banned, moved to YouTube, Kick, and eventually Rumble. The content creator gained attention for his disruptive streams in other countries, where he taunted residents, played excessively loud music, disregarded social and cultural norms, and made intentionally provocative comments about sensitive topics like the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan.

This behavior led to Somali being arrested in multiple countries and becoming generally disliked by many in the livestreaming community. His arrests never led to real punishment, however, and it seemed as if there would never be incentive for him to stop his offensive comportment. That changed in October 2024 in South Korea, when Johnny Somali was arrested for obstruction of work/business, violation of the Minor Crimes Act, and other charges.
