Square Enix has announced in an X post that they will be celebrating the 30 year anniversary of classic RPG Chrono Trigger throughout the upcoming year. The celebrations involve projects that aren't confined to the medium of video games. Translated from the original Japanese, the post reads:
Today marks the 30th anniversary of Chrono Trigger's release in 1995. This timeless masterpiece that transcends time and is still talked about today was born from a dream project by Yuji Horii of Dragon Quest, Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball, and Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy. To mark the 30th anniversary, we will be launching various projects that go beyond the world of games over the next year as a token of our gratitude to everyone who has played Chrono Trigger so far.
