A new Helldivers 2 board game is in development by Steamforged Games. Last year, Sony Interactive Entertainment released Helldivers 2, the long-awaited next installment in the Helldivers franchise. The game features cooperative third-person shooter action where four players attempt to complete various sci-fi-themed missions. With monsters and a tone not unlike those seen in the cult movie Starship Troopers, Helldivers 2 was a hit, becoming one of the top-selling games of 2024. New content continues to come out regularly, promising more fun strategems and missions to come.
Today, Steamforged announced it was developing a new board game based on Helldivers 2. According to the official announcement, the game will feature 1–4 players working together to "complete high-risk missions, navigate hostile battlefields, call in reinforcements, and overcome enemy swarms." The new board game adapts several features from the game, including Strategems and a host of weaponry and coordinated tactics to choose from while tackling different missions. A crowdfunding campaign for the game will launch next month, with fulfillment to follow.
