A stunning new video from upcoming title Dune: Awakening shows off the many opportunities for exploration of this diverse world. The multiplayer survival game will send fans on an adventure through the world of the Dune franchise, based on the books of Frank Herbert. Players will explore an alternate version of Arrakis from the point of view of a prisoner sent to the planet to investigate the disappearance of the Fremen, the native inhabitants of the planet.
Exploring the planet won't be easy, as evidenced by the new video released by developer Funcom, which highlights the ever-changing and unforgiving landscapes of Arrakis' Deep Desert. Fans will get a chance to explore for themselves when Dune: Awakening arrives on PC on May 20, with PlayStation and Xbox release dates still to be announced.
As the release date nears, Funcom shares new visuals and information about the world of the upcoming title. The planet of Arrakis might be mostly made up of dessert, but that doesn't mean it's one-note, offering many different environments to discover. The new "Exploring Arrakis" trailer shows several of the ways that players will be using to discover what the planet has to offer.
