We now know when we can play as Ultra Instinct Goku in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Ultra Instinct Goku will be joining the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster on May 22nd. This will make him the 7th version of Goku to be included in the game, and the second character for Season 3, coming in after Kefla. Three more characters will come after Goku in Season 3, though we do not know who they are at this moment, or when they will be revealed.

The YouTube trailer that revealed when Ultra Instinct Goku is going to be released also showed him in action. We see that he will be able to utilize a number of different dodges, and a few different counters. It is unknown at the moment how the dodges will work. He also utilized a large amount of energy attacks when fighting, and launched air bullets from his fists across the screen. The gameplay ends with Goku launching his opponent into the air and launching a massive Kamahameha wave at them.

For those who do not know, Ultra Instinct was a technique that Goku unlocked during the Tournament of Power arc in Dragon Ball Super. The technique allows users to fight and dodge attacks without having to think, and not be slowed down by having to wait for brain waves to travel through the body. This lets the body move on its own, making the user incredibly fast and able to dodge most incoming attacks. The mastered version of the technique turns the users eyes and hair silver, which is what we see in the FighterZ trailer showing off Ultra Instinct Goku. This is a technique that is normally only learned and utilized by the gods, though Goku was able to achieve it after being pushed beyond his limits.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.
