Counter-Strike 2 has broken its record for simultaneous players less than a month after it set its last one. Few shooter series have developed as devoted a fanbase as the Counter-Strike franchise, and even though its latest entry is nearing two years old, it's showing no signs of slowing. Players are still flocking to Counter-Strike 2, even without any major updates to incentivize people to do so.
Even though the start of 2025 has brought some strong competition from the likes of Monster Hunter Wilds and Avowed, Valve's hyper-competitive shooter has remained firmly in the top spot on Steam. On February 16, Counter-Strike 2 surpassed 1.7 million concurrent players, setting a new peak player count for the game. Now, just under a month later, it's done it again.
