The CEO of Rockstar Games' parent company gave insight in an interview on why there isn't a concrete release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 yet. With the game still lingering on an uncertain 2025 release window, players are eager to know when this beloved follow-up to the esteemed Grand Theft Auto 5 is set to finally come out. As only one trailer has been shared so far, fans of the series are unsure of what to expect from the game, especially as we appear to draw closer to its release.

Speaking to Bloomberg in a video interview (via RockstarINTEL), Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick explained the reasoning behind the lack of a release date announcement for GTA 6, stating, "We think you need to create enormous anticipation on the one hand." Zelnick added that "it takes a long time to develop these big, robust experiences," saying that Rockstar Games "seeks perfection in what they do and perfection is a pretty high bar." Essentially, Take-Two and Rockstar want to continue generating hype for GTA 6 while trying to meet big expectations for what is undoubtedly going to be a huge release.
