For the second week in a row, Assassin's Creed Shadows has reached the number one spot on the UK's physical game sales chart. Despite a rocky lead-up to its launch, Assassin's Creed Shadows has proven to be a much-needed success for Ubisoft, with sales trending upwards globally since its March 20 release.

Since the early days of the franchise, fans have been eager to get their hands on an Assassin's Creed title set in Japan. After multiple delays and its fair share of controversy, Assassin's Creed Shadows was released to largely positive reviews and managed to beat the launch day player counts of both Origins and Odyssey. The development team has promised to continue releasing updates and helpful patches for the title, with the game's first expansion, Claws of Awaji, scheduled to release later in 2025. While digital sales have become the standard across most regions, many players in one area have opted to snag physical copies of Ubisoft's newest title.

Some Assassin's Creed Shadows players are missing a handful of features that were present in prior entries in Ubisoft's franchise.
