Pokémon GO Is Trying Out Its Own Version Of The Battle Pass, With Free And Paid Rewards

A brand-new battle pass-like progression system is now active in Pokémon GO, giving players ample rewards through completing various in-game tasks. The feature, which is similar to a battle pass or season pass that you would see in something like Fortnite, is launching in select regions (that the developers have not specified) and has both a free version and a paid premium version.

In an official blog post, the Pokémon GO developers announced that the new monthly pass system, simply titled the GO Pass, is in a testing phase. The paid version, titled GO Pass Deluxe, can be purchased at any time during the month and will unlock rewards from all previously gained ranks in both versions. The first GO Pass is live from April 1 until May 6, 10 AM local time, and unclaimed rewards expire on May 8.

Both versions of the GO Pass have differing rewards. All players will be able to gain XP, candy, stardust, Pokeballs, and various Pokémon encounters. GO Pass Deluxe will include various premium items such as Incense, Incubators, and Lucky Eggs. This premium track will also give players Candy XL and extra encounters.
