"The Disappointment Is Immeasurable": The Duskbloods Is A Multiplayer Game, And FromSoftware Fans' Hype Has Plummeted

Nintendo's big Switch 2 Direct was probably the last place on Earth you'd expect Elden Ring developer FromSoftware to announce a new game, but that's exactly what happened earlier this week. The Duskbloods was a very welcome surprise during the show, channeling wonderful gothic/steampunk vibes so reminiscent of FromSoftware's best game - Bloodborne - that many instantly called it a spiritual successor.

FromSoftware fans were all hyped up on social media after the show, until the studio revealed more details about the game. Even though it looked and sounded like a single-player game, FromSoftware revealed in a later tweet that The Duskbloods is actually a PvPvE game, which will have eight players enter a game and throw down with each other while tackling typical FromSoftware dangers.

It seems as though almost every FromSoftware fan had the exact same reaction upon hearing the news, as the hype over what many were calling Bloodborne 2 eventually dissolved into disappointment and worry.
