With the release of comic book Negan in the Fortnite Item Shop, fans wanted to know if the actor playing him on the show had any thoughts on the possibility of his version being added to the game in the future, and he satisfied their curiosity with a quirky response. The Walking Dead has been part of the Fortnite universe for a while now. It all started with the release of the Daryl Dixon and Michonne skins, which were first sold in December 2020, a few days after their announcement during The Game Awards. The following year, Rick Grimes was also added to Fortnite in October.

The Walking Dead skins available in Fortnite are replicas of the characters on the show played by Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln. While Daryl Dixon does not appear in The Walking Dead comics, Michonne and Rick do. However, the deal was made with AMC, and only TV show characters became part of Fortnite. Things are now different with the release of Negan's skin in the Item Shop - this time around, the comic book version of the character.
