Dataminers may have come across a feature in the next Battlefield game that could brew a lot of controversy among fans. According to the leaked info, EA and DICE might be working on a dedicated subscription service for Battlefield 6, which will include the first-person shooter's battle pass and additionally offer several other benefits.
Subscription services aren't quite a new concept for the Battlefield series, with Battlefield Premium first debuting in 2009's Battlefield Heroes. It offered perks like XP boosts, an additional Daily Claw spin, access to the Premium store, and more for an upfront cost. Battlefield Premium also made its way into Battlefield 3, as well as subsequent series entries up until 2021's Battlefield 2042. With EA yet to fully unveil the next Battlefield game, the community has been left to pore over Battlefield Labs datamines for clues.
