Assassin's Creed Shadows' 1.0.2 patch has been revealed by Ubisoft, and it's bringing a myriad of important fixes and quality-of-life improvements to the game. Having launched late last month, Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of the biggest game releases of 2025 so far. The game's feudal Japan setting, protagonist duo, meaningful stealth, and more methodical combat have garnered much praise, as the game sits at a more than respectable 82 on OpenCritic.

While reception of Assassin's Creed Shadows has been mostly positive, there have still been some small issues and inconveniences players have been dealing with since the game's release. Perhaps the biggest and most notable had to do with dramatic frame drops in the game's home base Hideout area. It's a space that allows players to build useful structures and add decorative items, but players have been noticing greatly reduced frame rates while inside the area. Players aren't required to go there much throughout the game, but Ubisoft promised a fix in a future patch or update.

Assassin's Creed Shadows continues its financial and critical success and is on track to becoming one of the best-selling video games of 2025 so far.
