Ubisoft is releasing the first major patch for Assassin's Creed Shadows, updating the game for PlayStation 5 Pro and adding other quality-of-life improvements. Other than enhancements to the PS5 Pro version of the game, the title update also fixes bugs and adds several features based on player feedback.
As shared by Ubisoft (via Eurogamer), the 1.0.2 update for Assassin's Creed Shadows introduces PSSR, a feature that adds Raytraced Specular support to the game's Balanced mode. This option, which must be manually enabled, boosts the visual fidelity, bringing it closer to the PS5 Pro's Quality mode rather than its Performance mode.
PSSR, or PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, is an AI-driven upscaling technology that is designed to enhance image clarity and deliver ultra-high definition play with astonishing detail.
On all platforms, the patch also features changes to Mastery Nodes, the Investigation Board, and horse speeds. The Assassin's Creed Shadows 1.0.2 update is live on April 8 at 10 AM EDT.
