Indie Title Blue Prince Launches Today as Part of April’s PS Plus Extra & Premium Lineup

Although Sony isn’t as boisterous as their console rival Xbox in lauding the “Day 1” games that are added to their subscription service, they do still have their moments, especially for indie titles. Joining the likes of The Plucky Squire and Tchia, the April 2025 lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium features another standout indie game, which launches today, in the form of Blue Prince.

The debut game from development studio Dogubomb, Blue Prince, is a puzzle game which blends mystery and strategy together to create what the team calls a “genre-defying” experience. Using the player’s intuition and a celshaded graphical style to express how the world changes as decisions are made. The goal is to find the mystical room 46, but how you get there is entirely up to you.

Blue Prince has also received rave reviews from critics and currently has a 92 on Metacritic and a 90 on Opencritic respectively. Making it the highest scored game of 2025 so far with only Josef Fares and EA’s Split Fiction being a close second.
