A supposed "leak" claims to reveal new details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, or whatever the next entry in Activision's long-running first-person shooter franchise ends up being called. While there have been some exceptions, Call of Duty is almost always the best-selling new video game in any given year. Considering this, it's really no surprise that the first-person shooter franchise has stuck with its annual release schedule ever since Call of Duty 3 hit store shelves all the way back in 2006.
A new Call of Duty release in 2025 is inevitable. The only question is what shape it will take. Rumors from reliable sources have said that the next Call of Duty is a direct sequel to Black Ops 2's campaign, specifically the parts that are set in the future. Now another supposed leak is making the rounds online, and while fans should certainly take the claims with a massive grain of salt, it paints an interesting picture for the 2025 Call of Duty game.
